For unlicensed psychotherapists, those seeking their addictions credentialing, or seasoned counselors looking for peer support, I offer clinical supervision. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor and can supervise for both concurrently. I graduated from Regis University in Denver with my Master of Arts in Counseling as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counseling. There is no end to learning, though, and I have taken part in numerous trainings on Clinical Supervision which has led me to supervising and training interns and unlicensed psychotherapists. My experience over the last 7 years has been varied and meaningful, including the work I have done in department of youth corrections, inpatient psychiatric care, residential, substance use rehab, in-home therapy, outpatient family, play therapy, and individual counseling. This experience allows me to supervise you, regardless of the setting you are currently working in, and understand the unique atmosphere/limitations/possibilities you are presented with.

We enter this work with the hope to help others or change the world in some small way. Some of us feel like it is simply our natural calling to be healers. Whatever your reason for coming into this work- you’re here. And you need guidance, we all do. You’ve chosen a career that challenges you to constantly grow, face your demons, and witness life in all its glory and malice. It is not an easy job, but an important one. I can help you navigate the early waters of your career or help refresh you if you’ve been in the business for a while.

My approach as a clinical supervisor was adopted from those who have supervised me- both good and not so good. My greatest teacher was who Gil in Finding Nemo was created after- eye patch and poetic language included. He, among others, taught me the importance of being present, genuine, and encouraging the growth of those I work with. It is my goal to challenge you into realizing your natural gift with counseling, help you along the path as you blossom into your counselor identity, and be compassionate, humorous, and model healthy and consistent boundaries with you as you move through your career. Everything I do has a mindfulness component, as it is vital that we as counselors are present, aware of ourselves, aware of the experience of our clients, and aware of the exchange between us. I find it important to always be on the lookout for countertransference and how it affects our work. I also emphasize (in a very, very big way) counselor self care and burn out prevention. If you have any questions or would like to meet and see if we are a good fit, please contact me.

I look forward to walking this path together.
